When you're scraping off an ad or subscription supported site, you're potentially taking away revenue from these sites. Let's look at a newspaper's site. Say the newspaper relies on web ads to cover part of its expenses, local reporter salaries, office space and so forth. Now, let's say you develop an app that scrapes stories to re-post them on Android devices at no financial gain to you. Still, you're taking away from the newspaper that isn't yours, right? To some, that's like stealing.
