This is my experience as well; there seems to be a pretty close
correlation for my apps, as far as I can tell.

This approach also penalizes apps like mine which implement a free
trial (beyond the built-in 24 hours). Install percentage of my trial
version is naturally quite low, so it's never going to be in the top
listings with the current technique.
