I can obviously only speak for myself, and since I do a fair bit of web development myself, I would rarely go for services like this :)
For me .. any reporting required for a single app would take under a day to dev, and a few days over the course of the app development to fully test and bugfix it.. So the way I see it is that its cheaper for me to build what I need than use an external service - especially considering the wealth of libraries I've built up that usually allows me to build out fairly in-depth, bespoke reporting functionality in a matter of hours... As I said tho - you'll likely many developers who don't see the DIY approach as cheaper, or simply may not have the experience of building web apps.
