On the MiKandi side, it's almost entirely US traffic. The UK ranks third but is still pretty minimal in comparison.
It is a good point that if you target Android 2.x, you are only reaching 40% of the potential users/buyers out there, so you take a huge hit by using the latest features. It's a practical issue of being able to maintain an app targeted toward different SDK versions, so you can have a version that uses the latest and greatest, while still releasing a more limited version. I'm not sure how Android Market does this (or if it even can).
