Both? Have you considered targeted the rest of the mobile space? I do also suggest targeting iPhone or Android first, (according to preference). But once you have an Android app, it's not too hard to stretch into the J2ME market, including the lucrative Blackberry market.
Basically you can pick one title, and port it everywhere, or you can pick one platform, and keep pumping apps. Or you can try and do both. There is a network effect with both, I love playing Uniwar on my iPad, and my Droid. (oh also I love the Droid keyboard, but hate the Droid D-Pad, I want a D-Pad AND a trackball that are usable in portrait). Me, it'll be a while before I work in anything but Java. It's hard for me to imagine what work I'd rather do then Android work. Actually I guess I can see where I'd leave Java... the NDK is very tempting. But I'm happy to leave the native component of an Android app to someone else. Gosh it really is tempting to ramp back up on OpenGL and C again, just to do some NDK work!
