I have the same issue and this caused problem to my two apps.

IMHO using package prefix is much more systematic than publisher name.
I can't change package name but I can change Publisher name (what I
did in the past at least two times and in case that I will go pro
(from single developer to company) I have to update all my apps again.

This incompatibility again confirms that Android Market is one of the
worst working parts of Android Ecosystem.
