Does Google plan to add support for other JDKs for its Android
development tools (SDK tools, Eclipse plugin, ...)?

Currently, the development tools only support the Sun JDK. For
example, I have found these three threads related to errors received
while using the IBM JDK:

http://groups.google.com/group/android-internals/browse_thread/thread/954ee18e346a29a5
http://groups.google.com/group/android-beginners/browse_thread/thread/7b6686de97dc0d08
http://groups.google.com/group/android-beginners/browse_thread/thread/d4b74f365deb3e92

It would be convenient for developers if the development tools could
run with other popular JDKs (e.g. IBM, Apache Harmony) and therefore
support a variety of other development environments. Is there any
technical reason why the tools cannot be made to support other JDKs?
Any information on this would be appreciated.

If this is not the correct place to post this, please let me know.

Thanks.
