I am probably going to buy a ARCHOS 7 device pretty soon. I believe
that they are the same board as the one from Kmart, repackaged. Here is
a link:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882501013. This
one looks good, too:
http://www.chinanewfashion.com/products/product_17689.htm
There appear to be 2 basic types. One has a VIA processor and most
people seem to hate that one. The other type has a Rockchip processor
and that one seems to be better. The one from Kmart looks to be the
same as the ARCHOS 7, but with less memory. (The ARCHOS has 8G of flash)
This is the important part: It looks as though ARCHOS is actively
supporting developers. They have pointers to rooted firmware here:
http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates.html?country=us&lang=en
See the last panel.
Some also appear to have GPS, gravity sensor, screen facing camera, and
lots of other stuff.
Anyhow, I am tired of looking at this stuff. I would love to hear
comments, though.
All the best!

Resistance. Here's a video demo. Unfortunately the guy is a iPhone

has two in the display case. I was tempted but I think I'll wait to
see what folks who did bite think.

Does it have multitouch? Or is it a resistive touch screen.
It is advertising both free and paid apps through Android Market.
