I disagree with all previous the answers :-) If you add a permission like this to an existing app, then people will complain. If you have it from the beginning then everyone will ignore it. A lot of the apps require so many permissions that nobody cares anymore (except fellow developers). We request coarse GPS (due to ad-targeting) and we have had 2 emails and no comments on 1.3 million DLs.
