1 minute for about any emulator on .... a 64 bit 4 core machine. But that's a Windows machine where I only do "monkey testing" and YouTube demos. So I am building a new Linux box to replace this over the hill 2.4 Ghz machine. Between Ubuntu requiring more and the Android SDK requiring more a new machine is in order. Lots of fun shopping for components ... and making sure they work together (used to be much simpler).

The boot up of the emulator is slow, specially if you have an old machine.

all i get is the tipical android grey tect saying "android"

I'm assuming this is the emulator boot screen. This takes a while. Boot it then
go catch a movie, then come back. It might be loaded by then.
