I don't think you can exactly install a codec on android in the sense
of making it available to everything system wide, but you could write/
commission an application capable of either playing .au files (in
their various formats) or converting them to .wav files (or mp3's or
whatever if space is a concern) which would then be saved for the use
of other applictions, and install that on the android device as a
handler for .au files.
