I have a few friends with HTC Android phones (Desire and Wildfire) and
they all have the same annoying problem. If they have a contact in
gmail that has an address the address appears on one line in the HTC
address book and does not wrap, so cannot all be viewed. If you click
on it it opens maps. The only way to see the whole address is to edit
the contact. Just to clarify this, if I have the following address in
gmail contacts:
Santa Claus,
Big Ice Cave,
The North Pole
Arctic Ocean
Iceberg 76430
All I would see on the HTC phone is:
Santa Claus, Big Ice Cave, Th
This bug needs to be reported to HTC, but none of my friends is
willing to, or knows how to. So I have two questions.
Firstly how would I report this problem to HTC
Secondly does anybody know any way around this?
Thanks,
Charles.
The problem is in fact an incompatibility between the Google contact list
and the Android contact list. Whereas in the Google contact list there is
only one "Address" field, the Android contact has different fields for
"Street", "Town", "Zip-code", etc. This causes problems, not only for the
HTC. It is a known issue. To fix it, the Google contact list should be
modified, but this is not easy to do without breaking existing lists.
