Hi, *I'm new to this group so sorry and ignore this if the subject has already been discussed here. I tried some search 1st but didn't find anything.*
I have been using an Android tablet for a month now and I noticed a big missing feature: user profiles (and associated sessions). Unlike phones, tablets are more 'shared' devices much like a TV is or a home computer. But there is no user profiles and log-in sessions in Android so people are a bit forced to not store personal datas and not use their mail/calendar/whatever because then anyone can see them and change them (kids, friend visiting, etc). Yes you can lock the tablet but then no one but you can use it, so it becomes a non shared device like your phone. not very handy. So is there any plan to add profiles and sessions to Android ? if so how? Will the 'profiles' be saved to the cloud (I do hope). Will there be a 'guest' mode and/or a 'kid mode' (with parental control active and/or a chosen set of active apps for instance). How about linking purchased apps to a profile rather than a device : if you log in your friend tablet you can access your purchased apps (the icons appears but an app is not installed until you actually tap an icon for instance). Same for your private documents, call logs, emails, etc. Also 'managed profiles' for business customers so that an admin can manage them in the cloud and then the users use them on android devices. (handy for business apps and protecting/restricting their access and for separating work stuff from personal stuff on the device. may be something integrated with Google Apps for Business can be done here). of course all of these can also apply to phones so I guess this doesn't need to be a tablet specific feature (but atm it's more needed on tablets IMHO).
