I asked this in android-developer, and the response was a resounding silence, which makes me sympathize with the people who end up posting questions here.
In short: Has anyone seen LVL return a NOT_LICENSED response for a registered user, as opposed to just returning RETRY or failing to return a response? Someone I know who bought my game seems to have encountered that situation. FYI, with some additional obfuscation and some judicious raising of the bar, the LVL code hasn't been cracked after a week (according to my Flurry results and Google searches, anyway). I obviously don't want to discuss exactly what I did, since I don't want to spoil the surprise for any hackers who feel like digging into my code. Anything can be hacked of course, and I'm not doing anything nearly as complicated as some of the high-end antipiracy companies (who brag their products can withstand nearly THREE WEEKS of hacking, to protect the first three weeks of retail sales of a high-profile release). But I've done enough to prevent the casual user from downloading the script that auto-cracks the LVL protection, at least.
