Second everything Al Sutton said. Unfortunately, that's been the way with Android right from the start. I don't recall a single Android OS upgrade that was given to developers prior to being released in the field. And in the very beginning there were even more and drastic changes between the OS versions. While this is frustrating for developers, it certainly is also annoying for users, who got the latest devices and have apps that don't run properly because the developer could not adapt them for the latest release. The next bigger problem with this is just round the corner: according to Google, Android Market will be opened up for Google TV soon. Outside a selected group of developers that got a Google TV hardware kit to test, noone was able to check how their apps look and behave on Google TV. Google TV users will most likely encounter a market with every second app not working on their device. What a start for a new product. The main question remains: why can't Google publish the changed OS versions to developers just two weeks earlier? Certainly would not hurt anyone... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
