Oh, don't I wish this were the case. The guy who thought he'd had his app yanked for keywords discovered it was actually someone else using his company name to submit a malicious app -- they reinstated his account and apps, IIRC. Not sure if you know of other examples. On the other hand, a quick review of the top games finds that most of them are no longer listing piles of keywords at the end. I have an app which, in my opinion, is one of the few decent competitors to Angry Birds in the market. I won't claim it's better, but it's a solid game that ISN'T a clone but that shares a lot of the same traits. Try searching games for "Angry Birds", though, and you'll find that basically EVERY mediocre game in the market has "Angry Birds" as keyword spam. Heck, it's not limited to games. I'm seeing a "Lady Gaga Theme," for instance, and "Talking Paul Panda Free." And "Texas Hold'em". Oh, and a file manager, and an "easy app search" utility. And a 1.5 star rated Mp3 File Search utility. All listed before my 4+ star rated game that actually matches the genre. Yeah. I feel like I need to give up and mention Angry Birds several times in the description. Sigh. If Google would simply stop indexing anything in the last couple of paragraphs of a description, or anything following "keywords:", then my app might actually rank for including the following quote: "Hammy isn't angry, but fans of a popular game involving birds and spherical pigs should find Hamster: Attack! a creative new entry into the genre." Ahh well. I guess the ones who cheat are the ones who get ahead. Tim -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
