Amazon has announced its long overdue and much speculated Android Kindle.

What does it mean for all of us?
The specs don't mention GPS, so it probably doesn't have one. For me, that
means I've probably wasted my time having my app on the Amazon Market. I may
look for a graceful exit.

Though my apps DO depend on the Google API (which apparently was not
licensed) I have versions that don't require it mainly for third party
tablets with just the Android API. What I need to see is more coverage
by the Amazon AppStore than the US (I think they added Canada last
week). So far they haven't sent developers any specs on these tablets
and I assume the AppStore will be available too. I did a few months
back inquire to their developer support about supporting tablets with
Android API only though I don't think the support guy really understood
what I was talking about. But hey they do have support and you do get
replies.
