After having had a number of requests for my maps site as a map application, I started looking at what it takes to create an Android app with maps. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there exists a native maps api.
Further searching around, however, has led to concerns. I have read that the maps api is nolonger kept upto date and, more disturbing, the map tiles and data is reported to be way out of date. My application is specifically for France, so - Is it possible to have an official statement as to the ongoing support, or not, of the native maps api ? - Can Google confirm that map data (at least for France) is upto date and will continue to be so ?
