What's stopping Google implimenting, at a manufacturer level, an incarnation of Chrome OS that would allow you to use an Android phone as a bootable device, allowing you to convert from using the phone to using a desktop by plugging in the phone via USB and rebooting the computer?
Potential issues: Drivers? Getting an internet connection? use the phone at an automatic tether?
