Ran across this while trying to register my Galaxy S3 on the Samsung site--it asks for the model and a hex number or value. Both are under the battery but the model is also in the settings. Hubby & I have the same phones, but different cases on them, and while I can easily get to his battery compartment, my case is more difficult to remove. Are the hex values unique? As being like a serial or can I use his value too?
