Sr. Network Engineer – Job # UHGJP00061224 UnitedHealth Group – Fort Worth, TX 9 Months Contract *Must pass a drug test and background check once offered position* Knowledge required:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience. - Cisco Certifications such as CCNP; CCDP, CCIE certifications preferred. - Palo Alto certifications are advantageous. - At least 10 years’ experience designing, deploying, and administering network, data center and security solutions in enterprise sized businesses. - Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls. - Hands on experience with network protocols ( EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, VLAN, TCP/IP, etc). - DNS, DHCP & IPAM (DDI) protocols and security (Basic DNS and DHCP concepts, IPAM, IP addressing, VLANs). - Experience with Cisco VSS and vPC, Nexus 9K, ASR 1001X, Cisco WLC and Wi-Fi. - Exceptional Routing and Switching skills, especially with Access lists. Duties and responsibilities: - Design, deploy and manage Palo Alto firewall infrastructure. - Gather and review technical requirements for the firewall Infrastructure. - Lead Operations Team managing the LAN/WAN networks. - Identify, research, evaluate and implement emerging campus and data center network technologies. - Manage all VPN Technologies, including B2B operations. - Experience working for or directly with telco carriers. - Design, install hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls. - Perform network security design and integration; - Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints; - Provide network and host-based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration. - Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction; - Provide network documentation. - Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
