*DB2 System Admin Support*

location is anywhere in the US (Preferred Canadian’s(Toronto, ON) or TN 
visa else VISA independent USC or GC)

 

JD : 

 

** The role is part of the TECHCICS team is responsible for the planning, 
installation, configuration, and maintenance of all Online systems 
(CICS/DB2/IMS/MQ) and Vendor (ISV) software (FOCUS, MARK V, VSHARE, 
XPEDITER/CICS, XPEDITER/TSO, AbendAid for CICS) hosted on the zSeries  
(large system) platform. 

 

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

 

·         DB2 Systems Technical Support

 

·         5+ years of experience 

 

·         Support production, development, test and contingency DB2 
Subsystems.

·         Upgrade the DB2 products release at intervals.  Maintenance is 
applied on as needed basis. 

·         Provide Incident Response & Recovery

·         Trace and Dump capture and analysis.

·         Disaster Recovery support twice a year.

·         Support zSeries hardware and software upgrades.

·         Maintain software license keys.

·         Review and implement performance and tuning enhancements.

·         Daily review and resolution of problem management tickets.

·         Daily review and perform users’s change records (CM).

·         Provide assistance to application development teams to find and 
resolve their problems.

·         Keep ISV products at current available release and apply 
maintenance as needed.

·         Provide support to other technical support teams to upgrade their 
ISV products.
