*Position: **Lead Oracle Database Administrator* *Locat**ion: **Pleasanton,CA* *Duration: 12+months* *Local Preferred * *Job Description:* 1. Perform database administrative procedures using the latest tools and technologies. 2. Manages components and progress of large complex projects. Oversees small and medium projects using: project management, budgeting and financial tracking controls. Provides project reporting to project sponsors. 3. Designs, develops, and implements complex physical databases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments. 4. Monitors the performance of databases and makes tuning changes. 5. Oversees ongoing system capacity planning, forecasting and tuning. 6. Performs research, presents technical studies/findings and make recommendations. 7. Prepares business requirements reports, feasibility studies and cost justification statements. Articulates information architecture to clients. 8. Consults with higher-level resources to ensure the consistency of recommendations with enterprise direction. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most cost-effective design solutions. 9. Works closely with technical and client management to ensure implementation of database management and support tools for complex business application development requirements and processes in accordance with the latest enterprise direction (e.g., diverse development platforms, technological environments, software, hardware and tools). 10. Works as a Team Lead in the design and implementation of large, complex database solutions. Consults with IT staff and clients to determine the impact of new or revised applications on information architecture. Consults with clients to determine the information management requirements. 11. Provides training, knowledge transfer and professional development on new technologies and applications to staff. 12. Provides 24 x 7 database support services. After hour and weekend support is required. 13. Performs tasks, and provides guidance to senior database administrators for second level diagnoses and resolution of database problems with divisional or national impact. 14. Works with vendor personnel, if necessary, to achieve timely solutions of database problems. 15. Reports extended outages to clients and Sr. Management within KP-IT. 16. Coordinates with internal/external resources for 2nd level severity problem resolutions. *Education & Experience:* 1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, or a related discipline, and 10+ years of relational database background, of which 8+ years as a DBA is required. 2. Extensive work experience in information technology and diverse technological environments. Both data and process analysis and modeling skills which include logical and physical database design, as well as physical database implementation. 3. Strong knowledge of distributed database concepts and design. 4. Has large database development experience in Oracle database environments. 5. *Strong performance tuning and trouble-shooting skills*. 6. Understand n-tier architecture, cluster, and database connectivity issues in a client/server environment. 7. Good Knowledge and experience to Build, Configure, Optimize and Troubleshoot High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Data Replication Systems. 8. Experience with Oracle Database Engineered Systems (Exadata, ODA, ZDLRA). *Required Competencies:* 1. Must have analytical ability, sound judgment and problem analysis techniques, an in-depth knowledge of database administration, along with a broad knowledge of diverse data administration methodologies, database technologies, tools, and alternatives. 2. Strong project management and effective oral/written communication skills. 3.
