Senior Software Engineer working Central time zone for 3 months. Your thoughts as this is a quick turnaround. *Project Description* This project will support Indeed’s Open Source Program Office team. CIS Control 18.3 requires Indeed to “Verify that acquired software is still supported.” Existing software composition analysis tools (Snyk, Tidelift) can identify open source dependencies with known vulnerabilities, but no tooling exists to show maintainer support across all open source dependencies and open source infrastructure. Existing health metrics such as Issue Close Rate, Code Change Rate, New Issue Rate, and Criticality Score can help us identify open source software that is unmaintained or is trending toward abandonment (cf. Library Scanning Working Group, 2/16). An open source tool called Augur can surface these metrics across all open source dependencies, for all projects at Indeed.
