*L2 Support Engineer (Operations & Release Management)*

*Description :*

This role will be responsible to manage the distributed applications that
comprise the trading platform, Clearing, and Regulatory systems for
on-premises servers. Own the incidents routed by L1 team , triage and
provide resolution if within the scope of L2, else reassign the incident to
respective L3 teams of either Application or Infra Operations with complete
triage information for faster resolution from L3 teams.

*Primary Responsibilities:*

   - *Release management: *


   - Perform deployments activities and troubleshoot any failures,
      coordinate with App dev /QA team to ensure builds are made available and
      enable promotion to higher environments on time.
      - Enforcing and implementing change controls, facilitating
      collaboration between groups to achieve results quickly.
      - Configuring and administering middleware changes


   - *Incident management:*


   - Troubleshooting of incidents (L2/2.5) on all environments including
      resolution and reassignment to L3 (application/infra-Ops) for root cause
      fix. o Monitoring of Batch jobs, alerts (app and infra), and internal
      dashboard applications.


   - DR Support: Coordinating hardening and testing efforts through DR
   activities.
   - Identify and automate technical/process improvements.

*Job Specific / Technical Competencies: *

*Administering Unix VM Hosts*

   - Expertise on the Unix (AIX)/Linux environments.


   - Expertise on scripting with bash/shell.
      - Good analytical & Problem-Solving skills
      - Good understanding of Application environment (Troubleshooting
      issues related to applications hosted on Linux boxes)
      - Experience in handling Java exceptions, Oracle DB errors and
      similar application failures.
      - Expertise in deploying builds using Software Configuration
      Management tools, bootstrapped deployments, Jenkins, CHEF and
Bitbucket and
      release management activities.
      - Alert handling and monitoring using tools like Splunk and perform
      triaging of incidents.
      - Good understanding of networking concepts such as Firewall/VPN.
      Must be able to trace network / connectivity issues that impacts
      application.
      - Have performed server-side Automation – shell scripting, ansible or
      similar tools.
      - Have experience working on ITSM tools – BMC Remedy Helix, Jira
      - Experienced in setting up and administering middleware tools – IBM
      MQ, Kafka and Tibco FTL
      - Security and Quality Orientation, SSL certificate management.
      - Google Cloud will be a plus.
      - Good communication
      - Prior experience in Application support is recommended.

*Expected Technical skills:*

OS: Unix (AIX) / Windows, Scripting and DevOps: PowerShell, Bash/Shell,
Jenkins, CHEF, Ansible and Bitbucket, Chocolatey packages and Venafi
Middleware: IBM MQ, Kafka and Tibco FTL Networking: concepts of
Firewall/VPN Monitoring tool: Splunk, UC4 ITSM tools – BMC Remedy Helix,
Jira Internet / Web Technologies: Apache, Nginx, JBoss, Tomcat, Microsoft
IIS 4-7, Typo3 (Good to have)
