My opinion : It is better change camera interface for mediaredorder , It is must changed it for video call.
I think it is a problem about both ICamera and Camera Hardware Interface. frameworks/base/include/ui/ICamera.h frameworks/base/include/ui/CameraHardwareInterface.h The ViewFinder and video recording data are using same function for flow control (stop | pause). think there are some trouble for these: #1. When video size is different for preview size #2. Only get video to encode not need preview The #2 is the video phone case.
