The /etc/gps.conf file on G1 looks like: NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
NTP_SERVER is used to specify an NTP server for time injection. The XTRA_SERVER_* entries are for a Qualcomm specific feature. All these are optional - the GPS should be able to function without the gps.conf file. (So that message should really be a warning, not an error I guess...)
