That is a possibility, as NOR uboot is a little less flexible.

NAND uboot, OTOH, is fairly easy to tweak using the instructions on the openmoko wiki for "What if I borked my bootloader" but editing the kernel partition size in the environment.in file to a max of 3M rather than 2.

You don't even need a custom u-boot.

I must try Qi at some point. I guess the lack of dfu capability put me off, but then you can always use the NOR version for that I s'pose.

Personnaly I now use Qi and boot from sdcard. no problem with kernel >2M

But maybe kernel <2Mb would allow to boot from NOR uboot ? (this way I
could easily choose to boot from sdcard with Qi or NAND with uboot)
