That's an interesting way of going about things.

You could probably do this now. I had been investigating layering debian on top of android but found out that the solutions so far are not a first-class debian install. i.e. it's actually just a loop mounted image, a chroot and possibly unionfs to make things look like they're in the same space. Would be nice if you could install android as a set of debian packages.

Now adding a vnc server and a vnc viewer to that, well, it's a neat way to get X on there without extending the android UI, though it feels a little ... inelegant.

Definitely the easiest way to use X apps with android though.
