Hi Heiko,
There is a working, buildable version in the Koolu git repository that
I have made with the help of some patches from the community.
To check it out and build it, please do the following:
repo init -u git://git.koolu.org/freerunner/platform/manifest.git -b
koolu-cupcake-testing
repo sync
make TARGET_PRODUCT=freerunner -jx
Additions:
-Onscreen keyboard that replaces Rui Castro's keyboard. This keyboard
now works with different dialogs (ie: BT pin, Go To URL in browser,
etc).
-Better BT support for devices
It should be noted that there are regressions in the following areas:
-We use the Browser from the Android git. Need to delete the gears.so
file from the image or from /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins
-Accelerometers (need to be rewritten to match new HAL in hardware/
libhardware)
-Wifi - Can scan but has problems associating
-GSM - still uses old gsmmux-lib that is in koolu-1.0
-Reading SD card
-No precompiled images since there is not an easy way to remove
proprietary codecs.
Patches are gladly accepted from those brave enough to venture to the
Cupcake branch.
Discussions can be found on irc.freenode.net under #freerunner-android
and on this mailing list.
Happy Cupcaking,
Brian Code

Hi all,
as I have read on the previous mailing list posts a few of us where
asking
about cupcake status for the FR. I open this thread in case some of
the
developers at Koolu or Michael / Sean / Brian can give us an update
or eta.
Cheers,
Heiko
PS: I'm not pushing this as I am very happy of how Android non-cupcake
development is going... well, it's just for the nosy ones of us
(like me,
too ;-)).
