Why fight with Mntjffs.sh when
convert-image uImage-v24.bin freerunner-cupcake-snapshot-v15.jffs2
does the job to perfection??

And yes I know convert-image is based on Mntjffs.sh.

Sure! I have followed your steps: download

freerunner-cupcake-snapshot-v15.jffs2
uImage-v24.bin

and then the script tar.gz. I have extracted this, the I run
convert-image with the previus files.

Please try this:

sudo ./Mntjffs.sh ../freerunner-cupcake-snapshot-v15.jffs2 aaa/

then with ls aaa you can see a init.rc? I no!

2009/8/8 Ole Carlsen <[email protected]>:
In my system there is a init.rc. It is in the root of the .tar.gz file. This
is still the Michael Trimarchi we are talking about. Have you followed the
steps I described??

I have doble checked the install. There is no init.rc in the jffs2!

2009/8/8 Ole Carlsen <[email protected]>:
No or at least no problems like that. I can't make a call but that is
only a
minor. :-)

Do you have no problem?

2009/8/8 Davide <[email protected]>:
With Michael v15 I have a problem. The patch of init.rc does not work.
It seams that there is no init.rc to patch!

2009/8/8 Ole Carlsen <[email protected]>:
Have you tried with Michael Trimarchi v15? More to see if you can make
that
work. When you do the koolu, do you then also create the /data, /dev,
/proc
etc. folders or are they made automatically?? I will see if I can make
time
to try koolu tomorrow!!

I have tried to use the system.img and kernel.img but
android will freeze with koolu logo!

2009/8/8 Ole Carlsen <[email protected]>:
is possible to run all android on the sd card without flashing it?
I like this because so I can switch easy with other os.

Any direction?

How can I optain the jffs2 from img?
I have now succeeded in doing that. I did it with Michael Trimarchi
v15
cupcake.

make Qi your boot loader, you can use neotool for that, I downloaded
the
newest one at that time:
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Qi

download kernel:
http://panicking.kicks-ass.org/download/uImage-v24.bin

download rootfs:

http://panicking.kicks-ass.org/download/freerunner-cupcake-snapshot-v15.jffs2

download script:
http://panicking.kicks-ass.org/download/script

formatted SD card to ext3 (mine is a 512MB)

Read information in the script on how to create the .tar.gz file and
then
copy it to the SD card.

Re-insert the SD card in your FR and boot it up again.

That should be it.

Maybe I will try with the Koolu version later.

I have also succeeded on doing this with both FSO and FDOM earlier.
