Subject: [android-internals] Developing middleware and framework
components for Android
Date: Mon, 20 Oct 2008 03:43:37 -0700 (PDT)

Hi all,

We're interested in porting xvid codec and Banshee engine onto
Android( After extensive googling we found "no" info about built-in
codecs on Android and so we presumed that Xvid and Banshee are not
built into Android and so we thought of doing it so ourselves).

So I have the following questions,
1. How do I build C++ source code? Is it done using Eclipse? Ganymede
didn't work! Will Europa work?
2. If we successfully port these onto Android, how do I go about
releasing the same for the others to use? I remember not seeing any
mention about writing middleware components on Android in the
homepage.

Thanks. All your valuable comments are eagerly awaited.
