Has anyone been able to get kexec to work by enabling that option in a recent android kernel for the MSM7201a phones?
I'm playing with a 2.6.29 tree, and when I try it the screen goes blank without the kernels splashscreen ever appearing then eventually restarts from the carrier power on splash screen as if perhaps a watchdog had timed out (which is interesting, as an ordinary boot to a bad kernel seems to hang permanently). Don't have serial console hooked up yet, but that's the obvious next step. I did see where the linux on winmobile HTC devices folks had done some patches to fix the kexec process, but they were just disabling directfb output during the kernel uncompress, and official android kernels don't have that anyway as they use the debug uart instead. -- unsubscribe: [email protected] website: http://groups.google.com/group/android-kernel
