Others are having issues with Samsung kernel source on the Tab 10.1, but it appears that they weren't using an initramfs.
What I have tried...
I have downloaded the correct source code.
I have the initramfs from my device extracted form the kernel.
Tried to build with the supplied defconfig and also the config from
/proc/config.gz
I have tried using the initramfs without any changes.
I have tried using the initramfs with updated modules from each build
attempt.
I have confirmed that my boot.img creation and flashing procedures are
correct.
I understand a defconfig may not work out of the box but I don't understand
how a kernel built from config extracted from /proc/config.gz and the
initramfs does not result in a kernel that will boot.
The only info from the boot process I can get is from /proc/last_kmsg. It
is attached. This is from a kernel built with using the defconfig. If I use
the config from config.gz to build I get the same thing except the messages
regarding crypto are gone.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get more info about why it is
failing, or how to make it boot correctly please help!
