I'm porting Android to another ARM926 based SoC and seem to have the kernel booting, but see the message
Warning: unable to open an initial console. I believe this means the kernel couldn't open /dev/console and also noticed that the out/target/product/generic/root/dev directory is empty. Should the build process create the device file system or is there another mechanism that creates this at run time?
