Hi Ram, Seems like you have problem with firewall. git by default uses port 9418 which may be blocked in your firewall. So check with your port settings with your sys admin.
May be you can download zipped version of the source code from this link though i havent tried out this option. http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/frameworks/base.git;a=snapshot;h=HEAD;sf=tgz Hope this helps.
