The Android code is hard coded to BGR565.  It does not seem to respect
RGBA888.  I did a quick fix and actually got RGBA888 working quite
well with a WVGA panel.  The pulsing android looks a little funny
booting up as it seems to be hard coded to a smaller panel size:
"Android and a solid figurine" are on the left side of the screen and
a pulsing android figure are on the right side.

Does anyone know where the code is located that creates this pulsing
figure so I can fix this up to work with different panel sizes?
