Hi Susanner, We have a customer using the OMAP 3430 able to record 720p video with it. There is indeed omx hardware codecs available. TI is committed to making the OMAP an extremely stable Android platform. Performance is quite exceptional as well. There is also an upward path the the OMAP4 coming out I think in 2010 which adds a dual core ARM.
