hi all,

I read about the efforts in porting Android on MIPS arch and have
started looking at the source for a better understanding.
And I've started thinking...
At the moment, a lot of producers are using linux-based OS/kernel
cause of its efficiency and open-source licence. It happens often that
they use a JVM, but that's not open source, and so they have costs
from it.
So...
I'm so wondering about the efforts to porting ONLY the dalvik VM
instead of the Sun JVM to different architecture. It should be easier
than porting all the android platform and also faster to
realize...isn't it?

Do you think it's possible to port only the DVM to an arch different
from x86 and ARM, with linux kernel and a JVM?

-if yes, which steps should I follow? (I watched at Dalvik Porting
Guide...so i've got a few ideas)

-if no, what is the minimal configuration (DalvikVM, DVM +bionic, or
DVM+bionic+something else) that should be ported?

Thanks to all for every clue :)
