Hi, The time frame within which the different versions of the android are released is quite less. The vendors had just began shipping Froyo based phones, when the gingerbread is released. Even before they could think of moving out of Froyo ( in Tablets), Honeycomb is released.
Well Honeycomb is a tablet OS & Gingerbread is a Smartphone OS.
