Hey guys. I have a Dell Latitude E5500, with Intel i915 video. I
built, and installed Android without any problems, but when playing an
MP4 video though a small app, I have a couple of problems.

Using a simple VideoView, the video only plays in the top left of the
window (0,0) in a box approximately 4 inches wide by 3 inches tall.
I assume that this is the video's size relative to the screen size.
If you know anything about how to fix that please chime in., but the
BIG problem is that playback is slow. I'd say it's close to 25 FPS.
Not slide-show, but enough to make it unpleasant to watch.

I tried the VESA fb stuff via using vga=781 on the kernel line, and
that was just as slow (of course). So now, I boot without a "vga"
line, and it loads the i915 drivers. I've read about MTRR issues
causing things like this, and found a script to generate the "proper
mtrr settings", and launching this script before playback doesn't seem
to make a difference.

a "top" shows that I'm not out of processor, or memory, so something
weird's going on.

Any ideas on either issue?
