Hi, we are working on creating a low powered device running Android (not a phone/tablet/STB). Due to low margins of this device, the customer wants to fit Android into a 512MB system with a single core 1GHZ CPU. I've been reading about how KK is supposed to comfortably work in 512MB but I just don't see that. So we are considering Gingerbread
Here are some stats: a) KK with low memory flags seems to take 1.8GB compared to 400MB in Gingerbread b) RAM use in idle time: KK is 900MB while Gingerbread is 180MB c) System img size: 721MB for KK and 100MB for GB So I am not sure how KK is planning to replace Gingerbread on low ned devices. Therefore, I am leaning towards using GB for this low powered device. Would you agree or am I missing something in KK optimization? -- -- unsubscribe: [email protected] website: http://groups.google.com/group/android-porting --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "android-porting" group.
