Not possible for third parties to implement encryption of data after
it is given to the normal file access calls.

But presumably possible for third party applications to encrypt their
own data before handing it to file access functions.

Or are there any phones with swap enabled?  That could be a major
hidden leak of unencrypted data to disk.
