Hi ATDM

This is the default behavior of Android when activating a custom keyboard. They 
can - by design - read your keystrokes.
I cannot recommend you a good keyboard, however a good indication (as for all 
Android apps) is to check the permissions an app requires. Maybe a keyboard 
shouldn't request "INTERNET" permission etc. Use you brain ;-)
