Yes, that's definitely a plus. And it's easy to implement as well - just add
a
boolean property "generate-if-empty" (or something similiar) to the
<template> element of the cartridge descriptor. If this property defaults to
true, we're staying comaptible with existing cartridges, and the cartridge
developer can set the desired behaviour on a per-template basis.

If Matthias Bohlen and Anthony are OK with this, I can implement it and
submit
a patch.
