hi,

ok, you're right, if point 2 does not hold, point 1 is useless.

thanks

what I was trying to say in the last post is that even if
sometimes a patch is not used it is always appreciated.

hi sebastian,

There are really two points to be considered regarding the
work you did in the patch:

1 - making the coupling between AndroMDA and Velocity
loose instead of its current tight coupling

2 - introducing an alternative scripting engine

Point 1 - Making the coupling between AndroMDA and the
scripting engine looser is unquestionably a good idea.

Point 2 - introducing an alternative scripting engine is not
necessarily a good thing. From a purely technical
perspective it is certainly a good thing, but from a user
community perspective it is not so easy to say if this is
good. Will having alternative scripting engines increase or
descrease the amount of code generation templates that get
written by the community? Will it divide the community's
efforts or will having two scripting engines create some
synergy in some unpredicted way? I do not know. It is not
always a given that having more functionality is better.

Please be certain that you work is appreciated.

Tony

hi,

so you're ignoring something already done and functional :) ?
what business value has throwing it a way?

The decoupling would be good.

Perhaps we could introduce the patch, for the sake of
improved decoupling, but not introduce another scripting
engine.

Hi Sebastian,

thank you for this elaborate patch. However, as the business
value of supporting another scripting engine is yet unclear,
we did not add the patch to the code base.

Cheers...
Matthias

files splitted with split under linux; so a: `cat 'patch
part [1-4].zip' > patch.zip` would do
