I put them in there a couple of months ago.  It seemed the less of two
evils. Plus I couldn't easily imagine the situation where having it in the
distribution would cause somebody grief.

I know there was some talk about it a few times on the developer's list.
Once we decided it would be a good idea to put them in the distribution and
then another time we thought it wouldn't be such a good idea.

I added them because it seemed that it was very unlikely to cause anybody
problems having it in the distribution, but on the other hand not having it
could cause problems for some users.

For example:
- it's one less property that a new user needs to setup for doing a build
- it's one less thing that a new user needs to download
- ant 1.5.2 had a serious bug with some of its file zipping tasks
- some other projects, such as JBoss, JAXB, ..., include ant in their source
distributions
- technically speaking we can only really guarantee that AndroMDA works with
the version of ANT against which it was compiled and tested
