Hi folks, here is some info about the progress with metamodel decorators (MMD):
Chad Brandon offered to migrate the EJB cartridge to MMD after the holidays. He will have to draw additional decorator classes in UML for this. The UML model of the EJB-specific decorators should be in the EJB cartridge. This will create a small problem, because it will have to reference the basic decorator model in the andromda-meta cartridge, as the EJB decorator classes will inherit from the basic decorators. This problem will be addressed by Brian Topping who will try to put cross-model references (HREFs in XMI) to work. I have asked a "how-to" question on the mdr-users list and got an answer that I forwarded to Brian, after I had tried to do it myself without immediate success. Brian will have time for this after the holidays, too. In the meantime while Brian is working on this, Chad should model the decorators in the same UML model as the basic ones but in a different package. As soon as the HREFs will be working, we'll split the model into two and put references in there. This strategy will allow Chad to work full speed while Brian is laying the fundamentals. I will migrate the Hibernate cartridge and will need access to the UML model, too. So, I'll delay this until Chad has made his basic modifications. Thanks to you all...
