Hi Stephane,
I've enjoyed your progress on the list. Keep up the good work.

Do you all work under Linux???

It's important for me because the first persons I'll try to convince
about my aims is the AndroMDA team.
I'm running MacOSX/Windows/Linux (in order of frequency). On MacOSX (10.2), I have KDE 3.1.2-2 installed from the Fink repository. I'd have no objection against running Umbrello in an X session. However, did you already check how compliant their UML 1.4 support is (or perhaps is not)? I don't see the standard UML classifier, stereotype, tagged value, ... concepts on http://uml.sourceforge.net/developers/uml-modeller-class-diagram-2.png. Perhaps this is outdated or does not contain their full UML metamodel? Personally, I'm looking for a UML tool that supports UML 1.5+ tag definitions (i.e. typed tag references instead of string-string pairs) because otherwise you cannot check complex profile WFRs in OCL. I'm afraid neither Poseidon, Argo nor Umbrello support this for the moment so just pick an open source tool that seems easily extensible...

My 0.02...

Kind regards,

Hi evrybody

I found on sourceforge a open-source UML Case-tool which seems to
support XMI1.2 and UML1.4 : Umbrello : http://uml.sourceforge.net/

The only (on the website) bad point (but I don't really mind as I'm
not concerned) is that it only run under KDE.

Has someone try it with AndroMDA yet???

If Not, I'll try during the week.

It's important for me because the first persons I'll try to convince

(About my Aims) A lot of things could be generated inside the
modelling tool : Value Objects for Entities, bmp4struts common
behaviors (like loggin..) , Facade Services Beans for a common access
to Entities(add,update,delete,find and
buisnesses-relations_methods)...
It won't make AndroMDA dependent of the modelling tool but it can
realy increase productivity for modeling AndroMDA stuffs.

Do you understand what I mean? (My English is not very good)

What do you all think about it?

If you agree what open-source CASE tool would you see for it?

cheer.
