Hi, folks,

just went to the Wiki and checked our milestones on the ReleaseStrategy
page. This is what I saw:

Mar 24: Maven and dir structure in place: HIT!
Mar 27: Join to HEAD completed: HIT!
Apr 05: andromda-meta and bpm4struts code and docs complete: MISS for
andromda-meta!
Apr 06: Release AndroMDA 3.0-alpha1 with bpm4struts and animal-quiz:
MISS!
Apr 12: car-rental-system: code complete and changed to use bpm4struts:
UNLIKELY!

Instead of the missed milestones, we have achieved several other
milestones:
Mar 31: New layout for animal-quiz sample
Apr 04: Site documentation in place
Apr 05: bpm4struts documented via Maven and ready for an alpha release
Apr 07: Performance improvement in animal-quiz

This is still a very good result!

When I look at my current workload and other priorities, I realize that
I will only be able to contribute the following things in the near
future:
* strategy and overall guidelines
* planning
* architecture

Causes mixed feelings in me... Especially, I am sorry to say that I will
NOT be able to contribute or refactor code for some time. Some docs for
andromda-meta will come out, however.

Folks, I think we should go for an alpha release right now so that our
users will be able to test AndroMDA 3.0. (The marketing manager in me
says: "We should trade absolute perfection for time to market, now and
continue with perfection later").

Chad, how is the status of the packaging goals for Maven? Are we ready
to build andromda-src-3.0-alpha1.zip and andromda-bin-3.0-alpha1.zip?

Cheers...
Matthias
